MecenUSis a small story that joins the great story of generosity, philanthropy and patronage.

The story begins over 2000 years ago with the character of Caius Cilnius Maecenas (from his French name "Mécène")a close friend of the Roman emperor Augustus. He was the first person identified as giving financial support to poets and writers (Virgil, Prosper, Horace) out of generosity and a love of the arts and literature. The word "patronage" comes from him.

Since then, this form of support has crossed the centuries and taken root in France, enshrined in the law known as the " Jean-Jacques Aillagon "in August 2003.

The little story is ours. That of Méscènes Productions. It's the story of a team who believe that philanthropy is the key to a better society, and should be accessible to all.

First of all, it's within the reach of structures, thanks to a simple, turnkey tool.

This applies both to those who are carrying out essential projects but do not always have the technical or legal skills, or the human or financial resources, to build a sponsorship strategy, and to those who already have one but want to raise their profile and broaden their support.

And within the reach of each and every one of us: enabling everyone, from as little as 1 euro, to support these structures and their public-interest projects. Generosity belongs to everyone: to the major donors, of course, but also to those who contribute through very small, or medium-sized, contributions, through shared impulses, through the desire to act in their own way.

MecenUS is a platform dedicated to structures eligible for sponsorship. : associations, local authorities, foundations, endowment funds, higher education or research establishments, museums in France, etc...
It is aimed at organizations of all sizes, located throughout France (and perhaps one day elsewhere?), and involved in all fields of action open to philanthropy: culture, heritage, education, research, social, sports, health, humanitarian, environmental, citizenship...

MecenUS is a platform that brings together people from the same community. The community of the generous. Those who work for the common good. And those who make that commitment possible.
