From the outset, GROWEEKEND has been structured around a triple objective, with La Rencontre as the common thread: to raise awareness of the actions of the Ligue contre le cancer de la Vienne, to promote prevention and to raise funds to finance its initiatives. Initially conceived as a simple afternoon lotto-theatrical event, by 2021 the event has been transformed into a full weekend of festivities and solidarity. In 2025, GROWEEKEND takes on a new dimension with its cosmic theme: heading for the stars on November 7, 8 and 9 at the Salons de Blossac in Poitiers, the emblematic venue of the very first GROLOTO. The ideal setting for a festive, civic-minded event where imagination meets commitment. Decorations, entertainment and artistic proposals will plunge the public into a unique intergrolactic adventure, in aid of the fight against cancer. Together, let's make this space mission a moment of sharing, emotion and hope. At noon, take a break at the Grobar to share your market finds and sample some cosmic delights. In the afternoon, head for the stars with the travelling planetarium at Espace Mendès France and children's workshops: rockets, coloured planets, jet-packs and galactic creations. At 4:30 p.m., it's time for the Grande Parade Interstellaire, followed at 5 p.m. by the Boom Intergrolactique for young audiences, to dance like real astronauts! Adults won't be left out: from 2pm to 8pm, board the GRO Space Shuttle for an express interstellar voyage, before an evening of cosmic concerts starting at 8:30pm with Binidu, Ammar 808 and Planète Boum Boum. A full day of discovery, celebration and music... with your eyes on the stars!
