In 2026, La Passem! is back, more ambitious and more festive than ever! The famous non-competitive relay race dedicated to promoting Occitan Gascon will take place from April 30 to May 9, 2026, day and night, connecting Bedous to Anglet over a distance of 2,000 km, crossing nine regions: Béarn, Landes intérieures, Bas-Adour, Gironde, Lot-et-Garonne, Gers, Comminges, Couserans, and Bigorre. Since its first edition in 2018, La Passem! has continued to grow. In 2026, the race will cover almost twice the distance of the previous edition (1,100 km in 2024), crossing nine regions compared to six in 2024, and lasting ten days compared to six two years ago. This evolution will allow even more participants and local communities to be included in this cultural and linguistic adventure. La Passem! embodies essential values, starting with transmission, as the race is a powerful symbol of the transmission of Occitan Gascon, allowing everyone to appropriate and share this language. Added to this is inclusivity: open to all, regardless of age or physical condition, the race is a moment of gathering and conviviality. Not to mention cultural promotion, as La Passem! highlights the richness of Gascon culture through local events (conferences, concerts, dances, workshops, etc.). Finally, there is community involvement, with the funds raised during the race used to finance local projects promoting language and culture.
"La Passem! is much more than a race, it is a commitment to our language, our region, and cultural diversity. In 2026, we want to bring even more people together around this human and cultural adventure." — Daniel Barneix, President of Ligams
