The École Nationale de Cirque de Châtellerault (ENCC) meets a twofold structural need: on the one hand, to offer a branch of artistic excellence accessible to a wide audience in an area far removed from the major cultural metropolises; on the other, to support the emergence of contemporary circus as an artistic discipline in its own right. The ENCC offers a demanding, innovative training program that is recognized both nationally and internationally. It quickly established itself as a pioneering school, being the first in France to integrate circus into the baccalaureate curriculum. Every year, it welcomes students from all over France and abroad, who find here an environment conducive to the development of their artistic potential. In addition to pedagogical excellence, the school has a strong social dimension, promoting inclusion and equal opportunity.
