POITIERS

International solidarity & development aid

What if you could make a difference for development right here in Poitiers? For 30 years, Initiative Développement has been changing lives. Every year, more than 500,000 people in Benin, Congo, the Comoros, Madagascar, Chad, Burundi, Haiti, and France see tangible and lasting improvements in their living conditions. Our work is wide-ranging: structured water services in Benin, renovated health centers in Haiti, micro-enterprises gaining self-sufficiency in the Comoros, citizens participating in local decision-making in the Congo, and more… ID’s guiding principle, without exception: working with, never in place of. Local associations, municipal governments, and entrepreneurs are truly the ones who decide and carry out the projects. Our 170 staff members provide methods, financial support, and, above all, confidence in their ability to make a difference. Over 30 years, we have come to a firm conviction: what lasts is what communities build by and for themselves. You, too, can be part of this movement.
