MLIP – Mission Locale d’Insertion du Poitou

POITIERS

Culture, Social, Education, Health

The Local Mission (MLIP): helping young people get their future off the ground! For over 35 years, the Local Integration Mission of Poitou (MLIP) has been welcoming, advising, and supporting young people aged 16 to 25 who have left the school system and are looking for solutions to advance in their professional and daily lives. With a Mission Locale advisor, they can take stock of their career choices, look for training, get advice on finding a job or work-study program, learn about useful everyday assistance (getting a driver's license, finding housing, accessing healthcare, etc.), and promote volunteerism and civic engagement. Through regular individual or group meetings, the advisor helps to build a plan, step by step, based on the needs and situation of each young person. It is this ability to individualize each support program with a single advisor and to simultaneously act on different levers of the young person's professional and social integration that is the strength of the Association (holistic approach). It is a local public service mission that serves young people from the Grand Poitiers and Haut Poitou regions. The MLIP also contributes to the development and coordinated implementation of a local youth integration policy, mobilizing the skills and expertise of a network of public and private partners.
